Questions from Tyldesley
Do you cover Tyldesley?
Yes. Tyldesley is about 7 miles from our base in Wigan, and we cover Tyldesley and Astley (M29). Ring Gaz on 07923 485811 or send a few photos on WhatsApp.
Do I need a dropped kerb in Tyldesley?
Yes, if you'll drive over the pavement to get onto the drive, and in Tyldesley that goes through Wigan Council. You apply with their vehicle crossing form and they reply within 20 working days. If it's approved, they take a deposit and build the crossing themselves. On an A, B or C road you need planning permission first, and council tenants need written permission from their estates manager. More on Wigan Council's dropped kerb page.
Do I need planning permission for a new drive in Tyldesley?
Not usually. A new front drive doesn't need planning permission if the surface lets water through, or the rain drains into a lawn or border on your own land. If it's over 5 square metres, solid and drains onto the road, it does, and in Tyldesley you'd apply to Wigan Council.
How much does a new driveway or patio cost in Tyldesley?
Every job is priced on its size, the material and what has to come up first. Send a few photos on WhatsApp to 07923 485811 and Gaz will give you a free price. If it's worth a visit, he'll come out and measure up.
